Dangers of Lawn Mowers

On June 30, 2008, TODAY’s Natalie Morales tells one family’s tragic story that shows the dangers of lawn mowers and gives tips on how to avoid the hazards.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man has provided a link to the video of this first Today Show segment "Lawn Mower Safety" of the series "Today Investigates Summer Hazards" http://video.aol.com/video-detail/the-dangers-of-lawn-mowers/2149093282 for your educational convenience and yard safety awareness.

There can be tragic consequences when operating outdoor power equipment, especially with children in the yard - be careful and think yard safety! These accidents are frequent. Children should be taught to never play with the lawn mower. Children should be in the house when outdoor power equipment is in operation. Children should not be given a ride on a riding lawn mower.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man has witnessed several people giving children a ride on a riding lawn mower. I have stopped my car and approached operators of the riding mower to rescue the children from experiencing a severe yard accident. The riding lawn mower is not an amusement ride. It is an outdoor power equipment yard tool. In addition, it is amazing the number of people that I meet who take great risk in operating outdoor power equipment in violation of owner manual recommendations and industry best practices. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is here today so that yard accidents go away!

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man offers his deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Mason Lindley. I share a link to the Mason Lindley Miracle Foundation http://www.masonlindleymiraclefoundation.org website. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man has been touched by the life and story of little Mason Lindley. Thank you for the inspiration!
