Wall Street Safety

I offer a few comments regarding the mortgage meltdown and related Wall Street collapse. Risk is part of life. Indeed, risk is part of the financial markets. On Wall Street, safety is risk management. The key is to manage the risk. Wall Street is experiencing the aftermath of high leverage gone bad. It is very crazy. There are many disabled persons now as a result of this koo koo risky behavior.

Yard safety is risk management as well. The First Day of Spring this year (2008) was Thursday, March 20th. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man proclaimed once again that the first day of each season is Yard Safety Awareness Day. Actually, safety never takes a day off. Everyday is yard safety day. Nonetheless, I want to have a celebration periodically to promote a community effort. Therefore, I strive to create awareness. I do not want anybody to get hurt or die. I feel a need to return to Wall Street. Let the bidding begin.

Think before you invest. It hurts. Think before you cut. It hurts.

Conversation with Michael Eisner

A few years ago, I was visiting New York City. A highlight of my trip was meeting Michael Eisner on St. Patrick's Day while walking on the streets of Manhattan. I was still on crutches about six months after my lawn mower accident. I noticed him as he walked by me. Needless to say, I was compelled to present the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man concept to Mr. Eisner for his consideration. I hobbled on my crutches over to him, and I asked, "Are you Michael Eisner?" He responded, "Yes I am!" I shared my story with him. I am very grateful for the opportunity to speak with Michael Eisner about my yard safety awareness campaign. He was very gracious to me.

I would like to be a guest on "Conversations with Michael Eisner" on CNBC. I share the CNBC blurb about "Conversations with Michael Eisner" as depicted on the CNBC website:

CNBC presents "Conversations with Michael Eisner."

Riveting and revealing.

The inside story on Hollywood celebrities and industry titans. Conversations you'll hear on CNBC's "Conversations with Michael Eisner." It's 60 minutes packed with open and upfront interviews with the most dynamic leaders of our time.

From business to politics to entertainment ... these are the conversations you don't want to miss!

It seems to me that I would be a great guest on "Conversations with Michael Eisner." Actually, it would be a great thrill to meet Michael Eisner again. I met him during a challenging time in his career and life. It was announced a few weeks prior that Mr. Eisner would be leaving the Walt Disney Company. I am glad to see that he has moved on to a new chapter to a series of successful ventures.

Brownfields

Happy Saint Patrick's Day - another green day. However, I sense that Wall Street has created some brownfields, similar to the brownfields of the industrial age. Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial and commercial facilities where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contaminations.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man seeks to rescue individuals, families, and institutions from yard accidents as well as other issues involving the green. Spring is near, and Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man promotes yard safety awareness. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is sad for the many people impacted by the recent subprime mortgage meltdown. Indeed, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man chopped-off part of his left foot related to Wall Street shenanigans.

Wall Street competitive forces often result in brutal sneaky warped behavior. For many competitive achievers, they engage the Wall Street culture to make moola (sometimes mega moola) for themselves and their families. On the selfish to generous continuum, Wall Street players are typically very selfish to protect their interests and get the job done. In turn, they have lesser genuine regard for client outcomes. Consequently, there are millions of people who have been destroyed by selfish behavior.

Bad News Bears! Once again, the Bear takes a Wall Street dump. I feel sorry for the millions of people impacted by this Bear related crap in the woods of the world, including several Bear employees. I forgive them for they were too arrogant, manipulative, and selfish to know what was right to do. I look forward to my Fed bailout as well. Thank you.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is here today to trim the hedges - hedge funds. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is a yard safety super hero who strives to rescue individuals from accidents involving green grass and now greenbacks.

It is apparent that Wall Street is completely out of control - pressing the smoke-and-mirrors environment to a new level of fraud and unethical behavior. Risk management and investment performance is masked by mismarked positions and shady investment management. Wall Street has many tricks and holds these cards of the trade close to its vest. With the current subprime mortgage hedge fund fiasco, the Wall Street cards have been dropped and revealed to the public and investment communities around the world. Indeed, Wall Street firms stick it to other Wall Street firms as well. Nonetheless, the Wall Street shell game will reshuffle for the sake of maintaining the markets - preventing a dramatic market collapse. Yet, I hope that justice will be served. Bad sneaky is as bad sneaky gets. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is here today to rescue the investor from getting mulched on Wall Street.

Please be careful with your investment decisions. Wall Street serves its purpose, and Wall Street will take your money. I caution your trips to the Wall Street casino. Wall Street is very shrewd, very cruel, and very sick. It is a wonderful day in the Wall Street neighborhood - the gang will stick you if they can!

In short, there are some similarities between yard accidents and Wall Street accidents - both involve stupid human tricks on various levels. I feel sorry for many Bear employees (many who became mesmerized by the CDO machine of chaos). I forgive them for they did not care about the impact on other people.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man really does care about people! Also, I will never forget the concern of Ace Greenberg for my situation. Ace stood-up for me. I am available now as his friend.

Mulch Madness. Think before you invest. Think before you cut. It hurts. Thank you FED for another rescue!

Saint Patrick

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man pays tribute to Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick provides great inspiration toward my yard safety awareness campaign. Indeed, grass is green. The green in the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man color scheme (red, yellow, and green) represents my appreciation for nature and my faith in advancing yard safety awareness on behalf of God. I appreciate the many efforts and contributions of Saint Patrick. I share below a few excerpts about Saint Patrick - a great man who delivered divine works on behalf of God.

Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born, probably in Roman Britain, about AD 385, and was originally called Maewyn. At the age of 16, he was sold into slavery by a group of Irish marauders that raided his village. Having been a pagan before, he became closer to Christianity during his captivity. He escaped from slavery after six years and went to Gaul where he studied in the monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre for a period of twelve years. During his training he became aware that his calling was to convert the pagans to Christianity. He wished to return to Ireland and to convert the native pagans to Christianity, but his superiors instead appointed St. Palladius. However, two years later Palladius transferred to Scotland. Patrick, having adopted that Christian name earlier, was then appointed as second bishop to Ireland. Patrick was quite successful at winning converts which upset the Celtic Druids. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time. He traveled throughout Ireland, establishing monasteries across the country. He also set up schools and churches which would aid him in his conversion of the Irish country to Christianity. His mission in Ireland lasted for thirty years. After that time, Patrick retired to County Down. He died on March 17 in AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since.

Much Irish folklore surrounds St. Patrick's Day. Some of this lore includes the belief that Patrick raised people from the dead. He also is said to have given a sermon from a hilltop that drove all the snakes from Ireland, although paleontologists have pointed out that no snakes were ever native to Ireland. (In response, some scholars say the snake story was a metaphor for the conversion of the pagans.) Though originally a Catholic holy day, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into more of a secular holiday.

One traditional icon of the day is the shamrock. This stems from a more bona fide Irish tale that tells how Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity. His followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day.

The St. Patrick's Day custom came to America in 1737, the first year St. Patrick's Day was publicly celebrated, in Boston, Massachusetts. Today, people celebrate the day with parades, wearing green, and drinking beer.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man emphasizes that if you drink alcohol beyond the legal driving limit, then do not drive drunk. Also, if you are not driving, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man recommends that if you drink alcohol, then drink in moderation. Also, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man suggests that you be good to your body temple and do not pollute the environment of other people around you. Keep St. Patrick's Day green - not red!

Shoveling Snow

The snow continues to fall throughout parts of the world. Millions of people use a snow shovel to clear a path to walk and drive. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man wants to create awareness with regards to snow shoveling safety, especially with regards to technique and to whether one should even shovel at all.

Although snowfall is often a delight for young children eager for sledding and snowball battles, adults who have to shovel that snow are rarely as enthusiastic. Snow shoveling can be good exercise, but even the hardiest wintertime warrior needs to take precautions to prevent overexertion or hypothermia. Individuals with a history of heart trouble should not shovel without a doctor's permission, and anyone older than 40 should be especially careful.

The National Safety Council offers these tips for safe shoveling:

Do not shovel after eating.
Pace yourself. Shoveling, like weightlifting, can raise your heart rate and blood pressure dramatically. Stretch and warm up before you start.
Shovel only fresh snow. Freshly fallen, powdery snow is easier to shovel than the wet, packed-down variety.
Push the snow as you shovel. This is easier on your back than lifting the snow out of the way.
Lift with your legs bent, not your back. Keep your back straight. By bending and "sitting" into the movement, you'll keep your spine upright and less stressed.
Do not work to the point of exhaustion. If you run out of breath, take a break. If you feel tightness in your chest, stop immediately.
Dress warmly. Remember that your body's extremities, such as the nose, ears, hands and feet, need extra attention during cold weather.

I have heard of many people who have had a heart attack while shoveling snow. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (and sometimes snow man - always a yard safety man) wants to rescue individuals, families, and institutions from a snow shoveling medical issue and trauma.

Think before you shovel snow. It can hurt! Be yard safe!

Rescue 365

It is Winter and snow removal season in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. At any given time, regardless of season, the northern and southern hemispheres experience opposite seasons. Therefore, it is Summer in the Southern Hemisphere; it is grass cut season. Yard safety awareness is global and perpetual for all seasons regardless of the hemisphere.

Rescue 365. Every day is yard safety awareness day wherever you are in the world.
