Memorial Day

Memorial Day 2016 is Monday, May 30th.

Memorial Day is an American holiday dedicated to the memory of all war dead. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) is grateful for all of the men and women who have served in the U. S. military to protect and defend their country and to promote freedom, so that I can dress as a yard safety super hero and promote yard safety awareness. Often times, American citizens extend the concept of honoring war dead to all dead. I want to take a moment of silence to remember family members, friends, and fellow Americans who have passed away. (SILENCE)

Also, I must remember the individuals who have died while grass cutting - killed by outdoor power equipment. (SILENCE) The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that there have been over 3,000 fatalities during the past 30 years. In recent years, there are still about 150 lawn mower fatalities each year. This is one reason that the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) campaign exists. It is unfortunate that war sometimes results in loss of life while fighting for your country as a true patriot. Again, I want to thank all of the American soldiers who have served and are currently serving their country. Furthermore, it is really unfortunate to die from a fatal outdoor power equipment accident. Wake-up America! Indeed, you can die from cutting grass. Think before you cut. It can kill you. BE SAFE! (tm) I hope that you enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend because the WAR DEAD and the LAWN MOWER DEAD WILL NOT. Again, I am very grateful for the WAR DEAD, and I recognize the LAWN MOWER DEAD. THANK YOU! (SILENCE)

21 Lawn Mower Salute! (SILENCE)

Thank you for serving your country. Thank you for the memories! (CELEBRATE LIFE)

Commencement

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man attended a high school graduation ceremony recently. After the commencement ceremony, I mentioned to several people that yard safety awareness might be added as a requirement for earning a high school diploma or advanced higher learning. Then, I mentioned my yard accident and offered to show my reshaped left foot. Later, at a dinner celebration at a local restaurant, I was asked who I am and what I do for a living. In essence, my string was pulled, and Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man provided yet another unique experience of education and entertainment.

Furthermore, I enjoyed hearing the commencement speeches providing perspectives, reflections and visions. Indeed, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man has lived a very unique life. I recognized the opportunity for Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man to speak at graduation ceremonies to impart some education and entertainment to the graduating class, guests, and officials. In short, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man would deliver a great and inspirational speech.  Be yourself. Pursue your passions. Live smart. Be safe.

Actually, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man gave a commencement speech to some new yard safety crusaders. It was a wonderful experience.

Be yard safe! Think before you cut. It hurts! Educate and graduate! Congratulations!

Poverty

Poverty is deprivation of those things that determine the quality of life, including food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, but also "intangibles" such as the opportunity to learn and to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens. Ongoing debates over causes, effects and best ways to measure poverty, directly influence the design and implementation of poverty-reduction programs and are therefore relevant to the fields of international development and public administration.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man knows about poverty. Actually, there are several people who live in poverty as a result of yard accidents. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man has been conducting field research related to poverty.

Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man looks forward to working with various organizations to study and reduce poverty.

Be yard safe! Think before you cut. It hurts! Think about poverty. It hurts!

National Limerick Day

National Limerick Day is May 12th.  I have written a limerick that describes the birth and inspiration of Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man.

Birth of Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (Limerick)
By Richard Mudrinich

There once was a fun hard-working man
Who was a grass-cutting fan.
He cut-off his big toe
Screaming ouch oh no!
And hence was born Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man.

Happy Mother's Day

I am grateful for my mom. My mom, Helen Mudrinich, has influenced Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man. She has a long history of reaching out to help other people. She seems to always put other people before herself in a Christ-like fashion. Also, my mom has really cared for Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man. She really helped me immediately after my lawn mower accident. It was a very difficult and challenging time for several reasons. My mom took care of me. Likewise, I have inherited a will to rescue people from having a yard accident. If not for my mom, the many yard safety innovations that Rescue Rick theGrass Cut Man has introduced to the world would have never happened.

Also, I want to suggest to all mothers the importance of adding yard safety to the skills and tools that you give and teach your children. Each year, children represent about 20% of all people who get hurt from outdoor power equipment related accidents. Furthermore, I encourage all mothers to give their children the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man yard safety tips, to become better prepared and more knowledgeable about using outdoor power equipment. I recognize that motherhood introduces considerable responsibility. Please visit the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man website http://www.rescuerick.com to learn more about yard safety. I do not want your baby to get hurt.
