Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is an American holiday dedicated to the memory of all war dead. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) is grateful for all of the men and women who have served in the U. S. military to protect and defend their country and to promote freedom, so that I can dress as a yard safety super hero and promote yard safety awareness. Often times, American citizens extend the concept of honoring war dead to all dead. I want to take a moment of silence to remember family members, friends, and fellow Americans who have passed away. (SILENCE)

Also, I must remember the individuals who have died while grass cutting - killed by outdoor power equipment. (SILENCE) The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that there have been over 3,000 fatalities during the past 30 years. In recent years, there are still about 150 lawn mower fatalities each year. This is one reason that the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) campaign exists. It is unfortunate that war sometimes results in loss of life while fighting for your country as a true patriot. Again, I want to thank all of the American soldiers who have served and are currently serving their country. Furthermore, it is really unfortunate to die from a fatal outdoor power equipment accident. Wake-up America! Indeed, you can die from cutting grass. Think before you cut. It can kill you. BE SAFE! (tm) I hope that you enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend because the WAR DEAD and the LAWN MOWER DEAD WILL NOT. Again, I am very grateful for the WAR DEAD, and I recognize the LAWN MOWER DEAD. THANK YOU! (SILENCE)

Thank you for serving your country. Thank you for the memories!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! My mom, Helen Mudrinich, has influenced Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man. She has a long history of reaching out to help other people. She seems to always put other people before herself in a Christ-like fashion. Also, my mom has really cared for Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man. She really helped me immediately after my lawn mower accident. It was a very difficult and challenging time for several reasons. My mom took care of me. Likewise, I have inherited a will to rescue people from having a yard accident.

Hollywood CPR

The swimming season is upon us, which is why I want to mention the following.

A Hollywood producer friend of mine, working with the Los Angeles Fire Department and itsAmerican Red Cross certified instructors, produced a great family videotape on "How to perform CPR." As a favor to me, they are making the tape available this month (May 2006) only for FREE. (just S&H). See for yourself at http://www.video-match.com/, and if it looks good pass this on to your membership. Please indicate RESCUE RICK THE GRASS CUT MAN on the order form.

Hurricane Katrina taught us that you cannot rely on emergency services arriving on time. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Richard Mudrinich

Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby will take place this afternoon at Churchhill Downs located in Louisville, Kentucky. My pick for the Kentucky Derby this year is Point Determined. Bob Baffert is the trainer. Rafael Bejarano is the jockey. The Robert & Beverly Lewis Trust (Beverly Lewis) is the owner. Bowman & Higgins Stable & Robert N. Clay (MD) is the breeder.

Point Determined is from the first crop of recent racing superstar Point Given - the 2001 Horse of the Year after dominant performances in the Gr. I Preakness and Gr. I Belmont Stakes, and Point Determined looks like a carbon copy of his sire with his imposing stature. Also, Merengue, Point Determined's dam, is a daughter of Broad Brush, which is another strong stamina influence. I think Point Determined has a pretty good chance of winning the Kentucky Derby given these points.

I picked Point Determined because of his name. Likewise, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is determined to point out the importance of yard safety awareness. If Point Determined had a lawn mower accident and chopped-off part of his hoof, he would most likely not be able to compete in the Kentucky Derby. Also, I really like the State of Kentucky and the City of Louisville. It is a beautiful part of America. Kentucky is much more than thoroughbred horses and bluegrass country. Also, Louisville is host to the 2006 International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Exposition to be held October 6-8, 2006. In the meantime, please enjoy the "most exciting two minutes in sports" - The Kentucky Derby.

Think before you cut. It hurts. (tm) Point Determined.

Barry Bonds

There is so much controversy surrounding Barry Bond after he wallops each home run. Hank Aaron holds the Major League record for most home runs in a career (755). I am trying to relate to Barry Bonds in terms of his yard safety awareness. I wonder if Barry Bonds grass cuts his own lawn. Also, I wonder how many Major League Baseball players cut their own grass. I wonder if there are any Major League Baseball players who have artificial turf at home instead of a natural grass. I wonder how many Major League Baseball players are into yard safety awareness. I wonder how many Major League Baseball Clubs will invite Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man to make an appearance to promote yard safety awareness. I wonder if Barry Bonds would invite Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man to his home for a chat about his days living in the Pittsburgh region when he played for the Pirates. I wonder if Barry Bonds would sponsor the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man "Ride Across America" - a lawn mower ride from coast-to-coast maybe starting in Washington, D.C. and arriving in San Francisco. Think before you cut. It hurts. (tm)

The Doll

A Massachusetts couple has created plush Jesus, Moses, and Esther dolls that recite Scripture when hugged. I like the concept of dolls to communicate a message. I have designed the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man Bobble Head Doll with hopes to create and spread the yard safety awareness. I hope to partner with professional sports leagues to provide the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man Bobble Head Doll as an educational and promotional item giveaway on Yard Safety Awareness Day. Therefore, I would cuddle the Jesus doll. Actually, I know it has been the other way around for me. Jesus cuddles Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man. Be a doll.
