Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man is a yard safety super hero. Today is Halloween. Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man will be dressing-up again this year for Halloween and going treat-or-trick from house-to-house to spread his yard safety awareness message. Also, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man wants to acknowledge a little hero and his family who also promote yard safety awareness. I have wanted to attend a few fund-raising events for Matthew Baldwin who lost his right leg in a riding lawn mower accident a few months ago. Matthew Baldwin has created a website that has a super hero theme, including Spider Man. It is apparent that his family and friends really love Matt as well as have a great passion to promote yard safety awareness. Also, I am grateful that Matt and his family have included a link to my Rescue Rick Yard Safety website.
Matthew Kincade Baldwin Story
On Friday, August 1, four-year-old Matthew Kincade Baldwin was involved in a tragic accident and lost his right leg. Matthew was spending the evening with his mother at her boyfriend's home in Swan Quarter, NC. Matt was playing in the yard when her boyfriend hit him with a riding lawn mower. First responders nearby Engelhard were able to stabilize Matt and take him to a nearby location where he was air lifted by East Care Air Flight to Pitt Memorial Hospital. Surgeons performed emergency surgery and saved his life, but they were not able to save his right leg, which was amputated above the knee. Matt is in good condition and great spirits. He has a long road to recovery and some days may be harder than others, but family and friends continue to reassure Matt daily that he can do and be anything his heart desires.
