National Safety Month
NATIONAL SAFETY MONTH - JUNE 2006
Welcome to the National Safety Month Celebration.
This month, we mark the 10th anniversary of National Safety Month.
This annual observance reflects the Council’s historical commitment to influencing people to adopt and maintain safe and healthy behaviors in all aspects of their lives.
The National Safety Council established National Safety Month in 1996 to increase public awareness of safety and health risks and ultimately decrease the number of accidental injuries and deaths.
Since then, thousands of businesses, national safety and health leaders, community groups and organizations have come to embrace the national observance as an annual focal point for promoting safety during the summer months and throughout the year.
We are proud of our achievements in increasing awareness of safe and healthy practices, of our efforts to instill a culture of safety in businesses across the nation, and of our vision for making the world a safer place.
Weekly Observance:
June 5-9 Driving
June 12-16 Workplace
June 19-23 Emergency Preparedness
June 26-30 Home and Community

Likewise, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man wants to promote yard safety awareness so that people and animals do not hurt while in the yard. Therefore, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) has designated the FIRST DAY OF EACH SEASON as Yard Safety Awareness Day (tm). I recognize that the grass grows and the snow falls year-round all around the world. There is always a grass cut and snow removal season somewhere in the world. For instance, the Month of June marks the First Day of Summer.
Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) really loves baseball. I wish that Major League Baseball would designate June 21st (First Day of Summer) as Yard Safety Awareness Day (tm) at all MLB and NCAA ballparks, including the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man Bobble Head Doll (tm) as a yard safety promotional item. I dream of the establishment of Yard Safety Awareness Day (tm), pushing my toy lawn mower before a packed stadium and broadcasted via the scoreboard to all Major League Baseball and NCAA ballparks. Ironically, I now have nine toes - one for each inning of a regulation professional baseball game.
Since several people spend considerable time in their yards during the National Safety Month of June, Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man (sm) wants to create awareness about yard safety. Please visit the Rescue Rick the Grass Cut Man website http://www.rescuerick.com to study and apply some yard safety tips.
Think before you cut. It hurts. (tm)
